The incident took place around 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, at the Fairfield Collision Center on Linwood Avenue, said the Fairfield Fire Department.
When Fairfield firefighters arrived on the scene they found the driver still in the vehicle with an unsecured precast concrete panel teetering nearby, the department said.
Emergency responders secured the 500-pound panel and escorted the driver safely away from the scene to awaiting medical attention by American Medical Response, they added.
Technical rescue specialists devised a rope and a grip hoist system to safely lower the concrete panel to the ground, the department wrote on Facebook.
The vehicle is owned by the shop, so no customers were affected by the incident.
The business was deemed safe for business after an inspection by the Fairfield Building Department and will be open during normal hours.
